{"id":1915,"date":"2025-11-17T17:58:38","date_gmt":"2025-11-17T17:58:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseswoyer.com\/staging\/9864\/?page_id=1915"},"modified":"2025-11-26T03:51:27","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T03:51:27","slug":"a-letter-to-my-clients","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/jesseswoyer.com\/staging\/9864\/a-letter-to-my-clients\/","title":{"rendered":"A letter to my clients&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"margin-bottom: 8px; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-kerning: auto; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-feature-settings: normal; font-variation-settings: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variant-emoji: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"\">This can\u2019t be it.&nbsp; I remember taking my first personal trainer exam, via submitting the answers in a booklet and sending it back in the late 90\u2019s and being excited that it was complete, but then also thinking, \u201cthis can\u2019t be it\u201d.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\" style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>That is all I had to do.&nbsp; Is this the same process for all trainers and certifications?<\/span><br><br><span class=\"s1\" style=\"\">You see I spent thousands of dollars on those books, spent another couple hundred on the test and spent months during tech school in the military studying to become a \u201ccertified personal trainer\u201d.<\/span><br><br><span class=\"s2\" style=\"\">When I began applying the principles from my newly earned certification to real clients, I quickly realized that I was not truly prepared. <\/span><span class=\"s1\" style=\"\">My certification taught old information that <\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"\">promoted the idea that eating six small meals a day would boost metabolism, a concept that has since been debunked, and ineffective training strategies, such as recommending that each muscle group should only be targeted once per week for optimal hypertrophy results<\/span><br><br><span class=\"s1\" style=\"\">I thought I possibly just took the wrong certification exam so years later I paid more money to obtain a NCCA certification, this time from a more prestigious organization (oh yeah, the other certification is now a NCCA organization).<\/span><br><br><span class=\"s1\" style=\"\">But it was the same again.&nbsp; Outdated resources, surface level information, programming that was blanket approach and theory and practicum that I would never utilize.<\/span><br><br><span class=\"s1\" style=\"\">On top of, it every two years I had to obtain these magical CEC\u2019s that were supposedly setting me apart from the other trainers in my career field. I spent more money obtaining these specialized continuing educational credits, received a renewed certification on the wall for 2 more years once I met the \u201cmagical CEC criteria\u201d&nbsp;and spent some more money for the renewal.&nbsp; This was all literally meant to make you, and I believe that I was now even more prepared and qualified to be a \u201cmaster certified personal trainer\u201d.<\/span><br><br><span class=\"s1\" style=\"\">Blah, Blah, Blah. Still Unprepared. Still didn\u2019t know what I was doing.<\/span><br><br><span class=\"s2\" style=\"\">Many trainers continue to rely on antedated methods, applying the same boot camp workouts to all clients regardless of their age, abilities, or individual needs. This one-size-fits-all approach ignores the unique characteristics and goals of each person.<br><br><\/span><\/p><p class=\"p2\" style=\"margin-bottom: 8px; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-kerning: auto; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-feature-settings: normal; font-variation-settings: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variant-emoji: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\">When clients struggle to see results, trainers often place blame on factors such as poor adherence, genetics, or a lack of effort. They may label someone as a \u201chard gainer,\u201d suggesting that success is out of reach due to innate limitations. The reality is that these trainers come from the same school of certification that I did\u2014using standardized certification programs that encourage these blanket methods.<br><br>The key difference is that I chose to&nbsp;UNLEARN.<br><br><\/p><p class=\"p2\" style=\"margin-bottom: 8px; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-kerning: auto; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-feature-settings: normal; font-variation-settings: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variant-emoji: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\">I started spending my time reading Brad&nbsp;Schoenfeld\u2019s research on strength development and Menno Henselmans data analysis studies on fat loss, muscle growth, fatigue and total training volume and tested it on myself and then others to see what would work in real gyms and real clients.<\/p><p class=\"p1\" style=\"margin-bottom: 8px; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-kerning: auto; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-feature-settings: normal; font-variation-settings: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variant-emoji: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\"><br style=\"\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"\">I implement basic anatomy of origins and insertions into my programming, document the new data analysis for my own knowledge, tweak new volume methods for optimal MyoPS, educate my clients on the variables, sets and choice of programming per each muscle group that is best practice for Hypertrophy based upon these new studies. I began to help clients master there fitness and bodies.<br><\/span><br>So, what is the difference between me and your trainer who is still applying outdated methods from an outdated certification that they have hanging on their outdated painted wall?<\/p><p class=\"p1\" style=\"margin-bottom: 8px; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-kerning: auto; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-feature-settings: normal; font-variation-settings: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variant-emoji: normal; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"\">I update my knowledge Every. Single. Week.<\/span><br style=\"\"><br style=\"\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"\">This is difference between me and your trainer.<\/span><br style=\"\"><br style=\"\"><span class=\"s2\" style=\"\">Let\u2019s Master Your Fitness Together.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p3\" style=\"margin-bottom: 8px; The branded mobile business currently offers various types of training modalities that include personal training, range of motion, community exercise classes, motivational speaking, clothing, and CPR\\\/AED training. Jesse has been recognized in the personal training industry in 2014 by Dunkin Donuts as a Community Hero for his contributions to the residents of the local community, his community-driven activities and accomplishments that have been creative and innovative. As a finalist for Central Penn Parent Magazine: Senior Care Hero Award, Jesse has been nominated in 2015 and 2018 for his excellence, innovation and efforts on making significant positive impacts on the quality of health care, and as a result the quality of our lives, for families in Central Pennsylvania..
